Questions
Frequently asked.
What exactly does Palma Permit do?+
You pick your city and permit type, and we load that municipality's exact document requirements and documented rejection reasons. You confirm what's in your package — or upload it for automated review on Pro — and get a readiness score with every missing item and city-specific gotcha, plus how to fix each one, before you submit.
Which cities do you cover?+
30 municipalities across Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade — including Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pompano Beach, Coral Springs, Davie, Pembroke Pines, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, Wellington, Miami, Miami Beach, Hialeah, Homestead, and more. See the full list on the Cities page.
How accurate is it?+
Our requirement sets are built from each city's published submittal checklists, building-department guidance, and real documented rejections. We update them as cities change their rules. That said, requirements change and edge cases exist — Palma Permit is a readiness tool, not the authority having jurisdiction. Always confirm with the building department before filing.
What's the difference between a free check and an automated deep-read?+
A free checklist check lets you confirm documents manually against the city's requirements — unlimited value, no upload. An automated deep-read (Pro / pay-as-you-go) indexes your actual uploaded PDFs, confirms each document type, and checks for signatures, seals, and valid product-approval numbers, filling the checklist for you.
What does it cost?+
Free includes 3 checks a month. Pay-as-you-go automated deep-reads are $3.99 each. Pro is $19/month for 40 checks; Business is $49/month for unlimited checks and up to 5 seats. Full details on Pricing.
What is HVHZ and why does it matter?+
The High-Velocity Hurricane Zone covers Broward and Miami-Dade counties, where exterior products must carry a Florida Product Approval (FL#) or Miami-Dade NOA. Generic spec sheets get rejected. Palma Permit automatically flags HVHZ product-approval requirements for those cities.
Is my data private?+
Free checklist checks run entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded. For automated deep-reads, your files are processed only to generate your report and are not sold or shared. You can delete uploaded files from your project history at any time.
Can you add my city or a permit type?+
Yes — email support@palma.llc. New-city requests from Business customers get priority.
